Head of People & Talent (m/w/d)

Berlin

75,000 - 110,000 € per year

Your mission

Berlin, Germany (Hybrid) Full-time · Fixed-Term Contract

For 15 years we've built science-backed digital products that improve cognitive health for over 30 million people and unlike most companies hiring a People lead, this is for the long game. We're scaling a proven business with two products: a B2C brain-training app and NeuroNation MED, a permanently DiGA-certified cognitive therapy program.

We're looking for a Head of People & Talent to own how NeuroNation hires, grows and keeps its people. This is a hands-on leadership role that will lead to a seat at the leadership table and real influence on the direction of the company. You'll set the talent strategy and run the searches that matter most; you'll own retention and the day-to-day of people operations; and you'll be senior enough to represent People topics in our reporting to the holding group. It's a build role: you'll shape the function from the ground up, and one of your first mandates will be hiring an office and talent coordinator to support you.

The interesting part is the hiring problem itself, you'll crack genuinely hard, specialized hiring across a regulated digital-health environment: clinical researchers, scientific and data roles, information security for a certified medical product, and senior engineering and product talent.

What you'll own

  • Talent strategy & function-building: Define how NeuroNation attracts, assesses and hires. Improve or build the processes, playbook and team - starting with hiring an office and talent coordinator / junior recruiter.

  • Hands-on full-cycle hiring: Personally run searches for our most critical and hardest-to-fill roles, from intake to offer.

  • Direct sourcing: Build pipelines for specialized and senior talent through active sourcing and headhunting - not just inbound applications.

  • Employee retention & engagement: Own initiatives that keep our people growing and staying - from onboarding through development, feedback culture and retention strategy.

  • People operations: Run the employee lifecycle and core HR processes smoothly and compliantly, in coordination with the wider team.

  • Leadership partnership & management team: Work along the management team and bring People topics into strategic decisions.

  • Shareholder reporting and coordination: Support recurring reporting to our holding group - covering headcount, hiring metrics, and related people and business topics

  • Employer brand & candidate experience: Own how candidates and employees experience NeuroNation, and how we show up in the Berlin and digital-health talent markets.

  • Compliant, fair people practices: Ensure hiring and people processes hold up to German employment-law and AGG standards and reflect our values.

Your profile

  • 10+ years in talent acquisition and/or people functions, including ownership of full-cycle hiring for senior and hard-to-fill roles.

  • Track record of building or significantly shaping a function - and ready to build and lead a small team.

  • Breadth across both recruitment and people operations / retention - comfortable owning the full employee lifecycle, not only hiring.

  • A genuine player-coach: strategic enough to sit on the management team, hands-on enough to run searches and processes yourself.

  • Strong stakeholder management at leadership level; experience reporting to a board, group or holding structure is a plus.

  • Languages: Fluent English and German is mandatory, given people operations, employment-law context and group reporting.

  • Berlin-based, available for hybrid work.

Nice to have

  • Experience in healthtech, medtech, regulated/digital-health (DiGA), or deep-tech environments.

  • Familiarity with Personio or a comparable HR/ATS system.

  • Experience setting up employer branding, structured interviewing, or people processes from scratch.

Why us?

  • A leadership role with a real mandate to build, in a 15-year, mission-driven company with a profitable B2C product and a certified medical DiGA.

  • Flexible working hours with core hours, and up to three days remote per week.

  • An office at Gendarmenmarkt with a roof terrace, events, snacks and drinks.

  • A bespoke onboarding program to get you up to speed on our products, teams and organization quickly.

  • Flat hierarchies, an open feedback culture, and room for initiative and creativity.

  • Work that shapes how millions of people care for their minds every day.

We are an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of background, and we make hiring decisions based on qualifications, experience, and fit for the role.
